Sometimes you just want to get away completely without spending half a day in the car or at an airport. With us, you drive straight onto the estate, unload the suitcases and within an hour you are sitting by the water with a drink in hand. For most guests from Flanders and the Netherlands, we are only a few hours' drive away, and yet it feels like a proper break: a fenced, ecological private estate in the tranquillity of the Limburg countryside, right next to Hoge Kempen National Park and the Duinengordel.
That is what makes a domestic holiday with a swimming pool so pleasant. You do not lose precious days to travelling, you do not have to plan around ferries or flight times, and if anything comes up, we are here for you ourselves. A short journey, but with the feeling that you are truly somewhere special.
What sets our place apart from an ordinary holiday home with a pool on the side is that the swimming water here is usable all year round. If it rains outside, the group heads to the heated indoor pool. If the sun is shining, the heated outdoor pool in the garden is ready and waiting. For big families, that is worth its weight in gold: the children splash about, the grandparents head for the sauna, and nobody has to wait for good weather.
De Zilveren Maan accommodates groups of 8 to 22 people. We have 9 bedrooms, each with its own theme, and 8 bathrooms, so the morning rush never turns into a fight over the shower. Two rooms are wheelchair-friendly, which makes the house accessible for three generations at once. In the large communal living area, long dining tables invite the whole group to sit down together, with an open kitchen and cooking island where you take the reins yourself with the kamado and pizza oven.
And when swimming has been enough for a while, there is still plenty to do: a play loft, billiards, darts, table tennis, a volleyball court and a campfire spot for evenings outdoors. Enough to give everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, a lovely day without ever having to leave the grounds.
We run De Zilveren Maan ourselves, and you will notice the difference. We know every corner of the house, we know which room is the quietest for anyone who sleeps lightly, and we are always happy to share tips for walks or a lovely terrace nearby.
